Swim Team 101
Info for New Families about Swim Team & Swim Meets
Swim Meet Signup:
- The team website is the lifeline between the team and parents
- Weekly, please rsvp to provide availability for the upcoming meet
- Go to the team website click on Signup Calendar
Swim Meet Cancellation Policy:
- If your swimmer indicates availability for a swim meet and is a "no-show" or changes intended attendance within 48 hours of a meet (for a non-medical emergency), he/she will be excluded from relays in the subsequent meet
- No-shows impact the swimmer's relay team and penalizes the full team from a scoring perspective
Heat Sheets:
- Heat Sheets will be emailed the morning of the meet
- Print your own heat sheet to bring to each swim meet, or download the Swimtopia App. to stay informed of the order of events during the meet
- By Event (for the order of events)
- By Name (for finding your swimmer’s events)
How to prep your swimmer for a swim meet:
- 12 and under, please write name and age of swimmer on the back of right shoulder
- Write your swimmer’s events in an “EHLS” chart on arm or leg with a black sharpie marker:
- See Chart below for example
Volunteers:
- Check in at 5:30 p.m at the volunteer table (for MCC) to receive credit for working
- All swim families must complete three volunteer shifts (total) per season
- A shift = one half of a swim meet.
- 100% of the swim meet is operated by our volunteers
- If you do not complete your three shifts, you will be charged $100 at the end of the season. Paying the penalty fee up front in lieu of volunteering is not an option. Volunteers are needed for each meet
Bullpen:
- We ask that children 8 and under remain in their respective bullpens.
- If your children will be sitting with you, please let bullpen parents know during warm-ups. You will be responsible for your swimmer getting to their events timely.
